Inspiration+Mission

Teaching women to discover freedom through who God made them to be and to dwell deeply and daily with God, self, and others.

We can connect on so many different levels as women! Where do you need a little encouragement?

  • in the HOME (as a roommate, mom, wife, daughter, etc.)
  • in the WORKPLACE (as an employee, employer, or coworker)
  • in OUR CIRCLE (as we encounter others in different spaces)

Crowded Table by The Highwomen is the inspiration behind many of the connections and events that will be happening at Dwell! I have this hanging in my kitchen as a reminder to all who walk through the door that there is a place by the fire for e.v.e.r.y.o.n.e. There are too many women feeling lonely in the world, and it’s time to start sitting at crowded tables together, laughing, enjoying, and growing.

And, as I sat down and spent some time dwelling with God, verse after verse kept jumping out at me from all different parts of the Bible. God’s plans are for connection and purpose for each of us. They are meant to help us become better and have life to the full! Specifically, these verses are the inspiration for Dwell Daily Ministries, so that we can fully embrace the way of life that leads to peace and joy that only Jesus can bring.

Matthew 22:35-40 “And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. ‘Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.'”

Philippians 4:8 “Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.”

Titus 2:3-5 “Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.”

II Timothy 2:2 “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”

Luke 5:1-11 Summary: “Let down your nets into the sea.” – Jesus
“We haven’t caught anything all night! But because you say so, I will…” -Peter
The fishermen caught such a large number of fish that two boats were so full they began to sink!
“Now I will make you fishers of [wo]men!’ – Jesus

Acts 16:13 “We sat down and began to speak to the women who were gathered there.”

II Timothy 2:24 “And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful…”

Proverbs 14:1 “The wise woman builds her house
But with her own hands, the foolish one tears hers down.”

The book of Acts helps us to remember to act boldly,
always relying on God to help us. This encourages Dwell to invite, share, serve, and love women wherever they are. It also means we love them too much to keep them there, but we want to help them grow.

Come dwell with us! We can’t wait to meet you.

Cheers,
Allison and the Dwell Team
